Chapter 2 Survey about the tools in details
(2-2-9) Installing
a SQL Server 2005 Named Instance
1. Start the Microsoft SQL Server Installation Wizard by running The
Free Download BCA projects Setup application using the menu that appears when
you insert the CD. On the End User License Agreement page, select The Computer Science Final Project I Accept The Licensing Terms And Conditions check box and
click Next.
2. On the Installing Prerequisites page, click Next when the

3. On the Welcome To The Microsoft SQL Server Installation Wizard
page, click Next.

Configuration Checker, as Figure 1-2 shows.
5. Click Next.
6. Fill in the appropriate user and organization
name in the text boxes shown inFigure 1-3.
7. Click Next.
8. Select the
appropriate components to install by checking The Free Download BCA projects
box next to the component. For this practice, you should install all the
available components(see Figure 1-4).
9. Click Advanced. Expand the
Documentation, Samples, And Sample Databases tree.
10. From The Free download MCA projects in vb.net drop-down list associated with Sample Databases (see Figure 1-5),
select Entire Feature Will Be
Installed On Local Hard Drive.
11. Click Next.
12. Determine which instance names are
already in use on the server by clicking Installed Instances, which displays
the window shown in Figure 1-6.
13. Click OK.
14. Install a default instance, as
Figure 1-7 shows.
15. Click Next.
16. Review the components that will be
installed and click Next.
17. Configure
the service account information and The Free Download BCA projects component
startup information by selecting Use The Built-In System Account and choosing
Local System from the drop-down list, as shown in Figure 1-8.
18. Select the SQL Server Agent check
box.
19. Click Next.
20. Configure The Free download MCA projects in C#.net authentication mode by selecting Mixed Mode (Windows
Authentication And SQL Server
Authentication), as shown in Figure 1-9.
21. Enter a strong password in the
password text boxes. This password is used by the sa login ID.
22. Click Next.
23. Review the default collation
settings, which Figure 1-10 shows.
24. Click Next.
25. Configure error and usage reporting
by selecting both the Automatically Send Error Reports and Automatically Send
Feature Usage Data check boxes, shown in Figure 1-11.
26. Click Next.
27. Verify which components will be
installed (see Figure 1-12).
28. Click Install.
29. Verify that setup is complete (see
Figure 1-13).
30. Click Next and then review the
completion report.
